We came up with the bright idea of heading to DCA, renting a locker and cramming all our jackets in it. We picked up coffee and breakfast treats at Bakersfield Bakery. I had a giant cinnamon roll and had them warm it up for me—yummy! As we wandered over to Hollywood Backlot Pictures, we encountered a group singing holiday songs in that open area as you first come into DCA. They were really good, but alas, they were just ending their set. I’d love to hear them again sometime. We took in just about everything in Hollywood Backlot Pictures: Monsters, Tower of Terror, Crush, and Drawn to Animation (where I drew a pathetic looking Donald Duck). Before you know it, it was time for lunch. We decided upon White Water Snacks. We took our meals outdoors at a table that looked out over the park vegetation. Pretty soon we had visitors! First one kitty and then another. Sis and Lisann22 fed them tuna from their sandwiches. Evidently these cats are used to guests feeding them. But, while the kitties are pretty demanding as far as food is concerned, they won’t let you touch them One of the CM’s said if no one is on the patio area they’ll come up the door and start meowing for food. The calico kitty had two kittens, however, the CM said recently that a guest snatched one of the kittens and took it with him. This freaked mama kitty out so she doesn’t bring her other baby out near people. However, I walked over to the other side of the dining area that was vacant and saw the kitten—too cute. After lunch we headed back to Disneyland to catch another Billy Hill show. This time we scored front row seats. Then it was on to view the parade. We did this from Coke Corner. It’s pretty much been the same parade for the last several years. That’s okay because it’s only once a year. I wish they’d change up the music though; I got tired of the same song over and over and over. After the parade we realized it was chilling down but too late for anyone to go over to DCA and get our jackets—at least with out missing the fireworks. I got a hot chocolate and a Jalapeño pepper pretzel and they warmed me up a little. Before too long it was time to move down onto Main Street. Dressed in a short sleeve shirt, I was getting a little cold. It was one of those moments when I was reminded of my mom and could almost hear her say “Where are you without your coat!†That’s how she sometimes made statements. “Where are you without your shoes?†“Where are you without your hair combed.†Kind of silly, but that’s the way she made you stop and think about something you had forgotten to wear or do. The fireworks began and they were wonderful. We loved them. Lots of ooohs and aaaahs. And once they were over the vocalist came on singing “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas†and the snow started to fall. And that was when it hit me that it was 12 years ago to the day that my mother had passed away. She was almost 82 years old and my sister Pat and I had cared for her at home. When the people from the mortuary removed her body we followed them outside to discover that it had started gently snowing. Well, all of a sudden I was overtaken with a lot of emotions. Amazing what soap bubbles can do to a person! SuzieQ came to my rescue with some Kleenex. At this point I decided I couldn’t hang out with the rest of the gang for too long. I just felt a little overwhelmed. We were herded like cattle out of the Park so the Cast Party could begin. Half of the huge crowd went to Downtown Disney and the other half was heading to DCA with us. We headed to our locker and donned our jackets. At this point I said good-bye to the group to head off on my own. “I’m going to stop by World of Disney and then head back to the motel.†Big mistake. World of Disney was a madhouse. But at least pressing through people, picking up what I needed kept my mind off the emotions that had hit me earlier in Park. Although if I had broken down in tears at World of Disney, most people would have thought nothing of it, it was so frustratingly crowded. With packages paid for and in hand, I grabbed a cup of soup to go at LaBrea Bakery (no line at all) and went to the Park Place Inn. It wasn’t long before everyone else came back. IceKnyght got up at 2:00 am and headed home. He went straight to work. Ah, to be that young again.

Alas, it was a little to cold for goodgirl and I to ride Grizzly River Run, our favorite ride in the park. The cats were too cute! You and I did "the shiver" together during fireworks. It was getting downright cold! Let's see... when we got back to the room, we tried to open the Drop Dead Red, but she wouldn't pop her cork, LOL!!
