StudiosCentral.com writes Disney Junior Live on Stage at Disney's Hollywood Studios is rumored to be closing for a refurbishment in January and reopen with the addition of Sofia the First and Doc McStuffins (and removing Little Einsteins and Handy Manny). No word on if the same changes would happen at Disney California Adventure but in the past both attractions have been updated together.

So..... Doc McStuffins? Is he a real doctor? And what's his specialty, I wonder?

Doc McStuffins is a "she", and her specialty is stuffed animals. I've only seen the ads for the show, but it looks like she teaches them how to get along better, and heals their injuries.

I would expect that they'll update the show some time in the relatively near future. It seems like its gotten redone about every 3 years, and we're about to that point (or perhaps past it) with the current version. It's nice to see that they've managed to continue the show's periodic updates.

I'm surprised that they would update with Sofia as it doesn't even debut until January. Plus there has been a lot of controversy so I'm not sure that one will be a slam-dunk success - even if they are pushing the rest of the Princesses into the show.

Handy Manny is still in production but there have been fewer new episode of that. Plus with Jake and the Neverland Pirates also in the show it was beginning to lean toward being boy-centric. This will address the balance.
