Anyone can be branded a "celebrity" now. You don't even have to be famous, or noticeable, or have done anything that the average person would know about. It's really gotten quite silly.

Now, looking at the pictures a second time the redhead actually looks familar, she's the girl from Will and Grace that was supposed to be the star before that show turned into a vehicle for Jack and Karen, whom I adore! Grace Adler, of Grace Adler Design where Karen had her desk that she spouted her one-liners from. She's gotten older and less slim since that show went off the air, but now she looks familar upon closer inspection. Too bad Karen and Jack didn't go for a ride on Mermaid, and then over to Avalon Cove for cocktails, that would be really neat!

But Mariska Hargitay? Someone help me here, as I don't pay the extra 5 dollars to get the Finnish TV channels from my cable company.

Mariska Hargitay has been on Law & Order SVU for 12 years. She was on ER before that as a love interest for Mark Greene.
On a side note she is the daughter of Mickey Hargitay and Jayne Mansfield.

Law & Order. Is that still on the air? I never watched it, but I seem to remember the 1990's and some very forboding and somber intro music and a gritty, urban murder scene with tense looking detectives squinting in a bleak alley. And then I changed the channel. HA!

At least I now know that Grace from Will & Grace had a name; Debra Messing. Gosh I miss Karen and Jack and their hilarious cocktail-fueled antics. Now that was some great Television!

    Agreed!

I saw two groups of people with VIP escorts (plaids) on Saturday but I didn't recognize anyone famous.

I'm sure she is a very nice woman, and very talented in her chosen field.

    I just don't speak Finnish, so I wouldn't know. ;-)

It used to be a fun read a couple years ago, at least from the one young lady who was doing all of the Disneyland/DCA stuff. She even hosted a few "meets" where folks were given chances to ride attractions and see new shows. But that one Anaheim gal left and it went downhill quickly from there.

The info on Disney Parks Blog coming out of WDW has always been particularly banal and pathetically corporate, and it hasn't changed.

Now the Disney Parks Blog, even the Anaheim news, is just pre-packaged press releases and invitations to buy more junk that no one really needs and breathless notifications of D List celebrities going on rides with their kids.

And why would I ever bother with a Blog? I have Laughing Place!

If you don't watch L&O, it's entirely possible you wouldn't know who she was, just as a non-basketball fan might not know who, say, Kevin Garnett is. But she's been on a highly rated show for a decade, and has won multiple emmys for it. So yes she's famous, and in fact has been more successful than most actresses can even dream of.

The "celebs" people ooh and aah over all just seem to blend into one blob to me. Especially now that many celebrities have attained their status by simply existing on unscripted reality TV shows, rather than performing some talent for a paying audience.

I'm sure some of these folks mentioned in this thread have talent that is marketable to a paying customer. I did like that Will & Grace show, after all. But now that many celebrities have no quantifiable talent to perform, it has kind of diluted everyone else who may have some talent.

They all just blend together into one vapid botox patient who could have just stepped out of a makeover at Disney 365 for all I know.

For those keeping score at home: I did see Tony Baxter browsing the DVD aisle at Best Buy near Villa Park last month! I didn't say anything to him or bug him, but I did pretend to be intensely interested in the second season of Charles In Charge for a bit while I got all Disney-geeky inside. True story! HA!

I must be a complete nerd because I actually enjoy Disney Parks Blog, mostly for the inside information. Like the Carsland flyover video, for example.

You should have asked him if Discovery Bay will ever be built.
