A voice over of some disney spokesman (maybe Weiss maybe not) said LM is "in the tradition of classic disney e-ticket attractions". Dem's big words. There is also a lingering shot of a scale model of the 'Under the Sea' show scene. It reminded me of some of IOA's Suessland photos we've been looking at in another thread - kind of similar in the top-heavy and tilted shapes. Another concept shot shows Ariel and the prince in the boat during 'Kiss the Girl' - but they're a vision inside a crystal ball with Ursula looming large and scary in the background. The one part that concerns me is the omnimover format. Guests will be continuously passing through these show scenes. Yet the scenes themselves are depicting big musical numbers that have specific beginnings, middles, and endings. If we're only going to see twenty to forty seconds of each scene - and each song - I'm going to feel incomplete - like I'm always missing the best part. It got me thinking again of the carousel theater in tomorrowland. Surely they could devise a show around a series of musical set pieces that were all timed to the same length. And then rotate the guests through a sequence of six separate yet related songs. This kind of show format would work beautifully for any number of disney musicals. This was the essence of 'America Sings' way back when. The facility itself was a people eater and hugely efficient at moving the guests through. If memory serves it was up in the 2k pph range. I would think the same technology used in 'Nemo' - projecting characters into live 3D sets - would be effective in a carousel type show. It's a cost effective way to add movement and color to a scene. They don't need costly AAs anymore. And as we're about to see all over again with Eo's return - there's a lot of entertainment value in watching snappy musical performances and being immersed in amplified upbeat music. All while seated comfortably in a cool dark space. Sounds like twenty minutes well spent to me.

As for scenes and music - you wont get the full song. You'll get a loop that works for the length of the show scene. Take Big Blue World from Nemo at Epcot - it's a real song as heard in the Musical at AK, but only a few verses loop seamlessly in the ride. I'd have referenced Journey into Imagination, Horizons, or World of Motion demonstrating this basic technique - but Disney saw fit to tear those down.

Yah, the song is a little different since it was designed to be looped (I can't imagine how they will fit the "Carp with the harp" list in the Under the Sea room), but it should work fine. I think it will be interesting to see how they transition between the songs, since they will need some sort of transitional music, but that would be hard to make a loop out of too. They've certainly made a big decision doing a musical revue attraction, so it will be interesting to see how they handle it.
