While 2013 is already a momentous year for Disney Parks – with New Fantasyland as the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom history at Walt Disney World Resort and the first full year of a reimagined Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort – Disney today unveiled Limited Time Magic: 52 weeks of magical experiences big and small that appear, then disappear as the next special surprise debuts.

As with most of these campaigns when they're announced, the ideas here seem a little half-baked. I also suspect that there will be a lot of disappointed guests, who feel that their vacation time's theme isn't as good as another week. (This could be a particular issue with people who miss DL's Golden Horseshoe Review, which will likely be very popular among the online community)

Can't we just look at it as being a bit of extra fun? Does it really have to be picked apart so much? I value all of your opinions, but this is one time that I think I'm just going to dive in clutching my PAP with both hands to experience each week as a different adventure. I think it's cool that the park is opened an additional hour on Friday the 13th, or that we might have a week of devoted time to honor our military. I'm also really excited to experience the month long variety show in GHR. I do agree that Disney should post some sort of schedule to help those visitors who may be more interested in one thing than in another.

I can see an Earth Day week, a Disney Channel week, maybe even a reins re-imagining of an ESPN week as well.

EPCOT @ the UK Pavilion needs to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day. November 5. Hand out Guy Fawkes masks at the park entrance. Burn an effigy near the garden. Give guests the opportunity to show Disney what Guy Fawkes Day is truly about. 8^D

Mickey Mouse appears in his patriotic finest and guests will find special USA shirts, Ear Hats and other limited-edition souvenirs. Disney Princes join their Princesses to meet park guests in special settings, prix fixe menus turn up at select restaurants and Valentine collectibles will be offered for the week. What do they all have in common? An opportunity to sell limited edition merchandise to guests... Whoever was in charge of this promotion for marketing should be getting a promotion.
