We ended up buying multiple bottles of wine (and we don't drink), and about 4 dozen cookies! Anyway, after it was all said and done, the event was cancelled due to rain. So I am also wondering what the requirements will be this year...

But seriously, how do you get tickets? Do you have to have it with a meal purchase or do they have tickets separately? I've never bothered to go before because it was so crowded.

Before that it was invitation only seating. Only the Saturday shows were cancelled last year and that does happen, but rarely. The Sunday shows were performed as scheduled. The shows on one night were cancelled in 1993 when I was working in City Hall. What an all-around cruddy night that was! I hope that Disney Dining will have info available very soon now that the event dates and narrator have been officially confirmed. If you don't manage to get tickets or don't wish to do the dinner packages, there is a standby line on Main Street just behind the Christmas Tree and Guests can wait there and at the last minute all unused seats are opened up for Guests who have waited in the queue. It's not a guarantee, but it works well for Guests who want to wait. Last year everyone in the queue for both Sunday shows had a seat in the seating area. If you have someone to stand in the line and wait for you, this might be an option. Alternatively, you could plant yourself (and a blanket to save space) around the roped off area in Town Square. Then you'd have an unobstructed view of the show, although you'd have to stand. Just a few alternatives... P.S. Ursula, I use "famdamily" all the time. It makes me laugh every time! Thanks for the smile.

Originally Posted By imadisneygal Some of the offices at the Studio can invite Guests, but not all of them. I'm not trying to be elusive with my answer, but if you have a contact up there I'd definitely ask! The numbers that the departments are allowed to invite is determined by Guest Relations (and the Special Events folks who are doing seating) and then each department has a set number of invitations they can send out. So to answer your question about the Studios...some, not all.
