When this was first announced, I was suprised that they were aiming for an early summer opening date, since that only allowed about 10 weeks for a conversion from a bookstore to a restaurant. While it's now bordering on a ridiculous changeover timeline, it's much more like what I expected. Construction projects in California are seldom speedy, due to all the extra regulations; it seems that Disney can make the process particularly slow.

I went to Earl of Sandwich not knowing anything about the place...other than it had a clever name and happened to be right there in front of me when I was ready for lunch. Now, given the hype around this one coming to the DLR, and the delays, and the repuatation and limited locations they have in operation...the expectations are pretty high. And thus, I expect a lot of people will find it to be "overrated" or "no big deal". You can't hype something up this much in people's minds without it resulting in quite a few disappointed people who feel it did not meet their expectations.
