Lots of folks have wanted to add fire to small world for decades.

But probably not the way you've envisioned. ;^)

To me, iasw is the projection show with some fireworks added in, while the show from the Hub is fireowrks timed to music, with a few projections.

But the iasw area is a nice second location, and a lot less crowded....

But I would rate it third or fourth....

    1. The Hub area, with a good view of the castle and the Matterhorn.

    2. Combination of Fantasmic! at 9 PM and staying for the Fireworks along the Rivers of America

    3. Either the Main Street Railroad Station upper deck, or the iasw area. (I would recommend the Main Street Railroad Station for those who prefer Fireworks, and the iasw area for those who prefer the projections and music, and less crowds.

Basically all the areas marked on the Guide Map get the soundtrack (All of Main Street and the Hub, the Rivers of America area, and the iasw area including the old Light Magic viewing area).

While you need to look to your right a bit, it is a good combination that goes with the first showing of Fantasmic! (no need to find another seat, just stay in the same location). I would not recommend the location if it was just to see the Fireworks.

There appear to be at least four video projectors set up: one on a scissor lift behind the gate near the Fantasyland Theater, one on the roof of the shop at the ride exit, one directly behind the loading area, and one in the Light Magic tower.

Video is projected during the entire show, usually of the attraction being featured. During the "Wishes" segment, the "characters in bubbles" segment from the Florida version of Fantasmic is shown. Video of Walt's dedication speech is shown, but the audio is a bit out of sync, and due to either the aiming of the projectors or the shape of the fascade, if you are standing near the center of the building, you will only see Walts two ears (the middle of his face is cut off).

Unfortunatly, the unique archetecture of the fascade is only used by the video system once: to project a bullseye on the ticking face during the shooting gallery segment. For rest of the show, IaSW is basically treated as a giant white wall. This is really a shame since, based on the pictures of the projection tests on the castle that floated around the internet, the ability to align projections with specific archetectural features is there.

Neither IaSW nor the railroad are shut down during the fireworks, which means that the lights in the IaSW loading area are not turned off, and the train will pass in front of the fascade during the show. As a coincidence, when I saw it, the train passed through during the Disneyland Railroad segment (and it was neat to see a real train below the projected one).

Not exactly. During the singing of "Star light, star bright" a spinning gold star is projected on the clock face. As each character makes a "wish," that character's silhouette is projected onto the center clock tower. Both Mara and Madame Leota are also projected on the clock. And Indiana Jones's silhouette appears on the clock as well.

I saw the show for the first time on Sunday night, and although I thought it was awesome, I didn't see any video projections, tinker bell didn't fly, and the fireworks were completely hidden by the tree.

The lighting effects, the attraction references, and the surrounding fireworks was fantastic.

I waited about 1.5 hours under the carnation gardens sign (with a perfect view of the castle and matterhron). The light right next to me never dimmed, but the show was still fantastic.

I wouldn't mind going and seeing it again, especially to see Tinker bell fly, and some of the fireworks. This was obviously a labor of love from a Disney fan. Who else would put in the shooting gallery, along with the Matterhorn and Big Thunder safety spiels. This is the best Disney entertainment offering since Fantasmic's debut, too bad the crowd issues weren't handled better sooner.

So are there supposed to be film projections on the castle? We saw the characters and teh stretching wallpaper and the targets. The targets being the only ones I kind of cared, it was the lightening and the interacting pyrotechnics that really made the show a spectacular. Did Tinker Bell get cold feet or something, the door was open and then was closed at the end of the show? If I want the best seat in the house (probably on the bench behind walt but in front of the castle, how many hours early do I have to show up? Before the 7:00 parade?

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just a little late to the fireworks lovefest party. Most of the topics seem to have disappeared.

It is best to sit with the castle centered in front of you. I like to get as close as I can to the front because there won't be anyone standing in front of you and you don't have that claustrophobic feeling when you want to get out (everyone's walking away from you instead of all around you).

However, in case you are there and no one is setting up, make sure you're behind the line where they will rope it off or you will have to move. If you're unsure where that is, just ask a CM.

If you want one of the benches...well, I've actually never been there early enough to sit in one, so I couldn't tell you.
