The only way that the new system can effectively work is to offer folks more options and like the test at the MK that offered parade viewing, it is Disney's hope that this will increase the number of total FP's available in the park.

By adding things like parade and Fantasmic viewing they can open a lot more FP options and give the impression that there a lot of choices in the system. The problem is that attractions with normally run out of FP's early will be gone as soon as the availability opens.
