But I also think that for some families it can be a really nice addition to their package to get this book as well.

I'm just wondering who exactly eats at WDW these days ... I used to. Planned trips around it. Now, my best WDW 'meal' was a Chicago-style hot dog at Casey's (truly the best theme park dog I've ever had, but at $11 with fries and a Coke, a good $3-4 too high).

Thought about going to Artist Point last week (a longtime favorite that I haven't dined at since 2007 or 2008). The filet was $43 ... a la carte, naturally. The mushroom soup would have added $9.

Instead wound up eating at Mythos where I got an incredible filet for $15.95 and added a cup of mushroom soup for another $2.99 ... then got 25% off on top of that because was dining with a UNI pal (although an AP or AAA Card will save you between 10-20% too).

Now, do you think Mythos is a loss leader? Or do you think it is very profitable? Oh, and I was able to get a ressie about two hours prior to dining too.

Sorry to my pals here who insist on giving The Mouse all or most of their dining $$$, but I think they're a bit nuts. O-Town isn't NY ... or Chicago ... or Paris ... or you get the idea. The price points are absurd. I guess that's why in 90 minutes of sitting (and, yes Pierce, drinking) at the Territory Lounge I watched six whole parties enter the restaurant (from 5:30 to 7 p.m.)

The DDE and offering it for 'free' has been a near deathknell for WDW dining.

Someone was telling me they ate at Tutto Italia last week and spent $390 for three adults and two kids ... for pasta ... at a theme park restaurant ... yes, they had numerous appetizers, desserts and a bottle of wine ... but seriously ... that's nuts.

I don't fret for those who want to eat elswhere, it's just for me and my family. No for this trip I don't get to get the DDP.
I am a cast member so on some of my table services I get my discount. But I never buget for that.
I'm all for deals if I can get them though.
