(The Witches of Morva are my fave characters.) The animation is as good as ever, but the overall content of the movie is dark and macabre. Still, quite the inventive film, and I hope that they release a fully restored version of it soon. All Disney films, especially the animated ones, should be given the same care and consideration as the "classics."

Too bad as I truly WANTED to really like it as the animation looked beautiful. It just left me a bit cold in the story telling dept.

Originally Posted By dagobert I have never seen the Black Cauldron, but I know that it was a box office failure and was even beaten by the Care Bears movie. Yesterday I watched "Waking Sleeping Beauty" which gives a wonderful insight to Disney Animation during that time.
