I guess I'm an old fart as I actually have records (remember them?) and casette tapes (what about those?) and even found some eight-tracks (OK ... those didn't last) in my garage this weekend. I do think it is just the sign of the times, though. Businesses are going out of business left and right as our economy continues to crumble regardless of how much money our government gives Big Business. I wonder if it would have been cheaper to just give every American that makes less than say $250,000 a year, a few hundred grand of their own and let all these companies fail. After all, wouldn't new businesses take their place? That is what capitalism was supposed to be about unless I slept through all of my college economics and business classes. Back on point, though, this really is going to leave a huge hole at DD and add to its empty ghost town vibe ... and things don't appear much better in Anaheim (which has already lost four major tenants). Anyone still think Flamingo Crossings is going to be anything more than dirt for years (decades) to come? Oh well, pixie dust can only take you so far especially since ... ~5000=The Dow's new 8500~

As for music downloads - too fiddly when you have little time. Much prefer having CDs and the cool art work (still also have my vynal). for a song here or there, then I sometimes download. But for an album, it's CD time. The issue with Virgin is they have always been more expensive than other sales channels.

HA!), I've never understood the vinyl-heads who feel that the old black LPs have better sound than a CD. Once I heard Donald Fagan's 'Nightfly' on CD (1982 I think), there was no turning back for me. There's just no comparison.
