So much for Lassiter's genius. What is going on with the creative minds at Disney? The attraction sounds cool, but why oh why is it in Tomorrowland?

Although I am not a fan of the whole Living Character Program ... but where does it belong? Fantasyland? Maybe? Toontown? Possibly. The Disney-MGM Studios? Best pick. But T-Land? I can't wait to hear the backstory WDI is manufacturing for this one.

So what about Monsters Inc? Hey if they did it to Toy Story then why not Monster Inc. I mean I know there shouldn't be any comedy club at TL but how long will it be until people will see that it should be placed at a show-biz theme park like MGM. So what I think is that Disney made a mistake & will soon learn from that mistake.

Originally Posted By leemac <<Unless you and I read a different report>> I don't need to have read anything as I've seen the mock-up. The show uses a new souped-up version of the software from Stitch Encounter and will feature Roz, Mike and two brand new characters (conceptualized by WDI and created by Pixar) and they will interact with the crowd. Three screens are being installed at the front of the theater with one being dedicated to Roz and Mike each. The technology enables WDI to create images of the characters as the guests know them rather than interpretations which is what AAs are. The animation is all CGI and very realistic. It isn't just about cost. It is about providing an attraction that provides participation for guests and a different experience. There are so many permutations for this attraction. Kane22 it was obvious to me in the name too.

I enjoyed Turtle Talk greatly the first time I saw it. But by the fifth or sixth time it seemed pretty much the same despite the interctive aspect. I wish WDI would get it thru their heads that there's a reason why people love attractions like Pirates and Mansion and Peter Pan ... they take you into and immerse you in a different time and place. The idea that 'today's kids grew up with GameBoys and XBox and ipods and need to be part of the attraction' is NOT the way to create timeless experiences for park guests.
