The Orange County Register reminds us the Pixar Play Parade will have its last performance for a while on Monday. It will then close for DCA construction until November. New entertainment including a show based on The Incredibles will be added to the park.

It's interesting that they can't use the gate by the Tortilla Factory any more because of the Carsland construction, so there's no real way to have a shorter parade (like what they ran in the spring this year), and they would obviously have problems in the Sunshine Plaza/Buena Vista Street area.

I'll be interested to see what exactly the Pixar Pop-Ups are. They sound like shoving more Pixar down our throats, but it makes sense with the parade floats just sitting around. I'm kind of picturing something like the Green Army Men show, that just seems to ambush you and block the pathways. DCA seems to be turning into the 'Pixar' park, and these shows sound like they will reinforce that, even if they're just made from floats from the existing parade. It will be nice to have something until they finish the construction, but I'm still not sure how this will work.

And what exactly can you do for a 20 minute theme park show on the parade route based on The Incredibles? Very interesting...

Remy is supposed to be featured in this new parade so maybe DCA decided to just DHS that particular unit. We'll eventually find out.
