From this I get the impression that you are clinging to the notion that Disney's appearance standards are stuck in the 1950s. Maintaining minimal grooming and appearance standards is pretty universal in the corporate travel and hospitality business, whether it's staff at DLR, a Marriott hotel, or on a cruise ship. Other than the role playing angle I don't believe that Disney's appearance standards are any stricter than those of similar businesses in their field.

You've yet to demonstrate how Disney's dress codes are discriminate. In this particular case it appears that a solid effort was made to adjust their standard costume at the venue on behalf the employee's religious beliefs. It would be impossible to create a costume that encompassed the individual religious needs of every single possible religious need. "There is certainly nothing dirty about cornrows, for example, but the prohibition of that hairstyle probably affected blacks more than whites, and I suspect that's why the change was made." I don't know about that Spokker. I've seen white, Asian, and Latino people wear cornrows. That particular hairstyle may have originated from a particular ethnic group, but black people aren't the only people who wear it. I think we're getting a little off track here with the cornrows discussion.

Somehow that work environment didn't contradict her religious sensibilities for the past two years? She doesn't exactly have an airtight case here. ;-)

West coast represent now put your hands up! *echo* West coast west coast.
