    Having said that ...

    2. In the "something seems fishy" line of reasoning: that head scarf with a hat feathered fedora-ish hat on it seems really fishy. What independent varification is there that it was Disney's request that she wear that? Is it possible that she staged that picture to make Disney look bad?

So, those of you who spend a lot more time at Disneyland than I do - have you ever seen a Disney cast member wearing anything like the hat? It just doesn't look Disney. Not even a little.

    Seems really fishy.

Is there a beret in that picture? It's hard to tell. Looks like only the headscarf to me. Regardless, it looks fine to me.

But I don't understand why there needs to be a beret or a bonnet to begin? What's wrong with a matching scarf? Why this strange need for a hat on top of that? I don't get that.

Disney seems to have done far more than their fare share for these folks in recent years, what with 200 other religious accomodations made to people who didn't want to follow the established dress codes.

With all the fishiness regarding Imane Boudlal, I think it's vital to remember that the ridiculous hotel union is a key part of this story. They appear to have orchestrated the entire thing, from press conferences to leaked photos of costume tests to public protests on the front lawn of the hotel. If I was running a union where my dues-paying members were without a contract for over two years and hadn't had a raise in three years, I would think I would have more important duties to attend to than orchestrating press conferences about Muslim headscarves.

Very, very, very fishy. And yet it seems the person who loses here is Imane, as she has been out of a job and not been paid for over a month now. How is she paying rent and buying groceries and such?
