    Then again, I made a decision to wait until Amtrak reinstated New Orleans-Orlando service, so it could be another year or two, even though Congress is starting to light some fires under certain people's uh, "fundaments."

    What if they instead expand to match their capacity needs? That actually explains many previous decisions much better then the "to attract people" theory.

    Not necessarily... Most hotels simply dream about having WDWs Occ% where even if you add 2000+ rooms to the mix still will keep them significantly above industry averages...

    Plus while 100% Occ a day is wonderful sometimes running 70-80% is a good thing for the engineers and housekeepers to get things fixed and deep cleaned...

    The only thing that leaves me leery of that is the fact that they built up in the past, to no avail in terms of park expansion.

    In the past? It's been going on consistently throughout the past decade. Pop Century, Saratoga, DAK DVC, Treehouse DVC, and Contemporary DVC with very little updating to the parks. The only significant expansion occurred in 2005. Every other addition has just cannibalized existing attractions.

    ...and that's not even that much.
