The Hollywood Reporter writes Oz The Great and Powerful is off to a great start taking in on $2 million in Thursday night sales (with screenings starting at 9p). Its debut weekend should be in the $80 to $100 million range which would make it a huge hit. That would give it the 3rd largest March opening of al time behind only The Hunger Games and Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

And will no doubt make it's money back, and a nice tidy profit.

And by the time it's out on Bluray and DVD ... surely, many LPers won't go without a copy of their own.

The question on everybody's minds here ... (I'm guessing) ... Is, will it translate to theme park projects? That remains to be seen.

Possibilities are endless! Now focus on what you want to see out of it and something may come out of it.

    TDL .. no room!

DL .... also too little room.

To do it properly ...do it justice ... a project like this needs enough space.

Disneyland doesn't have to be an entire land, but I could see a nice transition area along Big Thunder Trail back to Fantasyland for a meadow, forest, countryside. could have a balloon/bubble ride similiar to what they have in the Jurastic Park area of Universal that is themed to large flying prehistoric flying birds and make it suspended. So many theme possibities. "Great Movie Ride" at Hollywood Studios already has an "OZ" room. Disneyland Paris already has a hot air balloon attraction outside the park I am sure they will convert to "OZ" somehow. DisneySeas already has a bunch of good stuff so no need to place it there as a huge attraction.

Anyone remember the "Western Balloon Ride" model against the railroad tracks?

    Professor Marvel's Gallery of Illusions?
Of course .. just a coincidence in the name.

And the 2 E Ticket Ride locations for Discovery Bay were iether hidden within a large showbuilding ... or hidden from view, and nothing built too tall to ruin the sense of scale it took to build DL in first place.

They could take that same layout ... and re-theme it all to a "Kansas" land.

    But I'd rather see Frontierland emphasis the word F... R... O... N... T... I ...E ...R

By expanding it - Not fracturing it to cram in more tiny "mini" lands .... And not do "OZ" they way it should - which Disney Resorts with room .. can do.

I was never a huge Oz fan; it was the trailer that sold me.
