And those projections on SSE remind me of a blog post from many years ago that jokingly came up with several ideas for a better SSE overlay than the Wand. Included with countless other character additions (including a Jack Sparrow hat) was turning the whole thing into a giant Mike Wazowski. Apparently the post was quite visionary, even if this was just for a one-time event

However, adding one more projection to EPCOT doesn't make EPCOT a better park. EPCOT needs more rides, attractions, and occupied pavilions.

Impressions de France is one of my favorite Epcot attractions even though it is really nothing but a Cinerama-style movie... a format that is almost 50 years old. As for the Monsters overlay, I think the Mike Wazowski Spaceship Earth is every bit as stupid as the MK's Castle Cake was. Leave the park icons alone!!

Half of DHS remains in mothballs. And EPCOT gets a Monsters Inc projection overlay on SSE. I'm a little underwhelmed with the EPCOT news. In truth, I'm probably more excited about the bus station expansion at the MK.

How come no one is upset about the projections that have been on it for years during and after Illuminations? What's the difference. Promotion, of course, it is. Why would one think that Disney shouldn't promote on their own property?
Originally Posted By FerretAfros >>Why would one think that Disney shouldn't promote on their own property?<< Heck, Disney even uses projections on SSE to promote an entirely different company each and every night of the year. As guests are exiting the park after Illuminations, there is the outline of a spinning globe projected onto SSE with lasers coming out of the American Adventure building, and every minute or so, a giant scrolling Siemens logo comes along. I'm not sure if they use the lasers on SSE during the show itself though; that may just be for the time when guests are exiting the park
