Originally Posted By mousermerf The monorails were known to the pilots and many CM's around WDW to be problematic long before the accident. As mentioned in the news articles, problems were occurring with a bit of a regularity for some time. Disney has the stance that the monorails will function indefinitely. I never agreed, and have thought them well past due for replacement for some time. Here's hoping that side of the argument is now made more public.
