And then, at the end, sell the DVD of the audience's work to those who participated on it?

They don't seem to get that there were always TWO attractions there. So now we lose one lousy old one for a lousy new one ... and the spin is a net gain. Magical leadership.

Chevy Chase was at his most blissfully ignorant in the feature and Martin Short just hamming it up. For the life of me I can't remember who directed it - I'll have to find out. I suspect it was Jerry Rees (Michael & Mickey and Back to Neverland at D-MGM, Alien Encounter at MK and CineMagique at WDSP) - I know he did Sounds Dangerous too. The decision to switch out the attraction was a desire to link the entire building to the ABC brand which is why the One Saturday Morning concept came into existence. The attempt to build on the ABC brand in the Studios park never worked which is why the 101 Dalmatians SFX movie was replaced. Carey is a big Disney fan and he was keen to get involved (despite the fact that he was tied to WB). It is fine but doesn't have the same impact as MSS as every show is the same. People often think interactivity is a new thing in the parks. D-MGM was full of it when it opened - Indy Stunt Spectacular, the water tank, the HISTK bumblebee, Monster Sound, SuperStar TV.... It still seems to me to be the only way to execute a studios-themed park.

I just wish Disney would make videos of the 'performance' available to the 'guest stars' afterward. My wife and I were there with a couple we are friends with. The woman is a real goofball, as am I (which perhaps is why we were drafted). I was very manly in my role. When the planes came in strafing us I grabbed Patti (the woman) and moved her between me and the incoming rounds. I then crouched behind her, using her as a human shield. My wife was so proud. LOL

Ingenuity should be used, not Marketing and Boards. I bet if they just got a few of their sound guys, go heres $xxx, just make it X minutes, nothing to raunchy. I bet you they could come up with something people would enjoy. SNL is an example of that to a certain extent. It's simple but makes you laugh. Same with Late Show monologues. The problem with boards is everytime a good idea is mentioned the other people on the table kill it. Then they ask Marketing to come up with something that sounds wonderful to them but loses something to the target market. Just what are *you* celebrating? Some of the best stuff is improved. Too bad with lawyers and suits running things we can't get those non-engineering types making rides. Seems like DL had a few good ones made that way. Seasonal sucks. Wonder of Life is existing infrastructure. Changing it out for something new shouldn't cost too much. But the same argument can be made for a new Star Tours movie (with the exception of the Lucas clause) Throwing money doesn't necessarily generate everything. I don't think too many non Disney fans get too worked up over Space at Epcot for example. It's one of the last things mentioned by those I know who go to WDW as casual non Disney fanatical vacation takers.
