But you're right - this is big. I can't see how they are ready for that though, with the last pic's from Darkbeer, it was all plywood and didn't look anywhere near being ready for water!

There is no easy way to get a crane or even another type of major piece of equipment to move the subs, so the easiest way will be to fill up the lagoon most of the way, so the subs become buoyant, then use a boat to pull the subs along the track to near the loading area, where they can get access to the top of the subs. One of the things they are supposed to be doing is replacing the entire motor of each sub, and convert the type of fuel that will be used.

Most of the current work is being finished up, and they can move whatever they need to to the old Motor Boat Cruise area, which has become part of the work area, to keep dry.

This also will open up the caverns, so they can start working on redoing the entire building to hold the new set features.

So, move the subs, test a few things, then drain the water so that the work in the caverns can begin, plus continue the work out in the lagoon section.

They have already poured the concrete for the loading section, and just finished up the new decks for the CM's in the loading area, so that area is pretty much ready to go (And they were welding the tracks in that area this week).

So I guess I will be popping into the park on a few times next week, thank goodness for 3 hour parking.

(In regards to Mickey's Halloween Treat, which has tickets on sale, so it isn't just a rumor, and the schedule is out (well, at least the initial one, as they might add more days based on demand).

Currently work on the Subs is continuing, plus work on the southern area of Club Buzz for additional seating, since some of the northern area will be lost after Labor Day to allow for the construction to start on the Finding Nemo queue area, and the changes to the Monorail Station upstairs.

Around Labor Day, the Autopia store will be relocated (one possible location, the smoking area next to Radio Disney), and then the entire area will be closed to allow work to start.

Al Lutz stated in his last update, that based on the current schedule, soft openings of Finding Nemo might be ready to start in February. The official Media opening is still planned for May, 2007.

And whats even worse, longer lines thanks to the popularity of Nemo, the new storyline and effects.

Darkbeer, any insite on upgrades(down grades) to the subs themselves for the ever popular ADA rulings? As they are, people in wheel chairs and those not able to use stairs are ruled out of this new adventure. Do you think Disney would really retrofit all the subs with oversized hatches and lifts for chairs?
