They added a lot more fire and different fire jets for the new scene. Also, they incorporated the Screamin' lasers and projections. Looks amazing!

While the other clips of WoC are (to me) is just a series of "commercials" to the same Disney branded cartoons (set to dancing waters) ... that have been shown in one format or another UMPTEEM million times, for decades now! If it's not shown in a parade .. it's shown in Fantasmic ... or WoC, or somewhere else.

The over commercialism is so overkill .. it's gotten to be a turn off to me, and boring.

Whether it's set to fireworks, a parade unit, a dancing waters show, stage show ... How many times can they keep overplaying this stuff ?!!! Originality, please ?

Sorry for going off topic a bit. :)

Really? I've been going to a lot of the parades, shows and fireworks at Disneyland for some time, and I seem to have missed the "umpteen million" showings of The Old Mill, Fantasia 2000, the wildebeest stampede from Lion King, and such newer offerings as Up, WALL-E or even Finding Nemo.

Have I just been missing these?

Some of the segments that have not been overplayed brought a smile to my face. The Fantasia 2000 scenes were refreshing, and "Little April Showers".

I guess what I'm trying to say ... Lets take "Friend like me" or "A Whole new world" from Aladdin.

Saw them in the movie almost 20 years ago. Loved it. Saw the play in the Hyperion theater a few times. Great. It's gotten played in a few parades over time. They even tried overlapping a song in 'it's a small world'. I may be missing a few other places where it's been used .. and now it's in World of Color. You can take a song in Beauty and the Beast that's been played so much ... and eventually ... don't you even get sick of seeing/hearing it again? And the worst part ..... It's not a new "take" on these famous songs and scenes ... they are direct lifts from the film. And I don't find it a "refreshing treat". It's just a retread of the same song, same track from the movie, same scene against a mist screen ... and I don't even feel like I'm watching a NEW water show anymore. I feel like I"m just watching a tv commercial for their films.

You know how you put on a DVD .. and you get the previews before you get to the main feature? I feel like a good chunk of WoC is exactly that.

    I'm sick of it.

How many times are they going to replay "Beauty and the Beast" or "A Whole New World" or say something out of "Little Mermaid", in future new media presentations? The new attraction is sitting right behind you. You want a song from Little Mermaid .. go on the ride.

I like the second half of WoC. The transition from some pieces right into another are cool.

But instead of replaying the same song, and same scene from a movie (Taking Beauty and the Beast for example) ... How about a theme on roses, with a new instrumental song .. with a few "strings" from a Beauty and the Beast song. Make it just a bit Avant-garde. Not a literal translation that comes off like a "tv commercial" to the movie - set to dancing waters.

Sorry for some overlapping redundancies in my writing.

But I know I make a good point. And in the future .. as WoC is a format that can change frequently ... I look forward to content that's not just another rehash from a song or movie scene we all haven't seen already - and in some cases .. overplayed.

How about WoC be an entertaining show with FRESH NEW ideas .. and not a "commercial" to the latest movie?

That's how I feel Disney is treating WoC at the moment. Just another means to show (yet again) clips of movies - Set to water.

World of Color is meant to be the next generation Dancing Waters show. It has INCREDIBLY new techniques that are fresh and brand new. When Sea World's in San Diego was new .... the music was "atmospheric" / mood setting ... and worked as "Supporting Actor" to the technology. I was so blown away .. when I saw it at ages 12 to 15! Sea World didn't have heavily senergized animated properties that override and dominate the technology. They showcased the technology first ... and the music "added" to the experience.

As World of Color is using incredibly sophisticated equipment never used before ... I can only imagine shows that are "mood" and "emotionally" resonating. There are moments. But as soon as it transitions right back to a "TV Commercial" to the Familiar cartoons... it just looses it for me!

Wall-E, and the two Fantasia 2000 elements .. and even brief moments of Pocohantas' scenes ... touch on that "mood" experience.

I think WoC has a pretty good balance. If anything is seems overused to me, it's Chernabog and Night on Bald Mountain. But... what a great piece to overuse!

They seem to be AWOL rather often. Anyone who works this show have any insight?
