I am sorry I am a little bit late typing this, but I suppose better late than never and it afforded me the ability to actually TWEET an update as it was happening (follow me - @WDW_Weather). I am watching a vigorous disturbance rush towards the Disney area and it will bring some much needed rainfall. Like I've been saying the last few days, rain isn't what you want to hear about on vacation but I can tell you this much - we need it and we need it bad. So here's the bad news - and it's double bad because 1) rain will impact your day at the park and 2) the disturbance is moving so quickly (hauling at a good 20-25mph) that the rain won't really do much to help us out in the long term.

So what does this mean today. Well it's about 10am as I type this and I'd suspect by 12-1pm we should see some rain in the area (if not earlier). Gusty winds and moderate rain will fall for a little while, and the clouds and precipitation will keep temperatures from topping the 90 degree mark (or should anyway). (Don't you love weatherman speak?) By late afternoon, early evening the rain should be clearing out leaving us with a pretty good second part of the week.

Temperatures rebound as we head towards the end of the week with plenty of sunshine. Highs will remain in the low 90s and chance for rain creeps up into the weekend. That said the chances for showers will hover around 20 percent which really isn't much especially as we start June. I'd expect day time heating and sea breeze collisions to cause a couple of showers to pop up through Sunday - follow me on Twitter and I'll always try to keep you ahead of the storm (yeah I ripped that off from The Weather Channel ... so what).

Uh oh, I would be remiss if I didn't mention, "HAPPY FIRST DAY OF HURRICANE SEASON EVERYONE!". Does the threat of a hurricane factor into your decision of traveling to the parks during the summer months?
