That leads me to believe she sustained a real injury and, unlike 95% of Americans, she simply wants to be reimbursed without "sticking it" to the mouse. Was a Jungle Skipper and I know that boats "can" bump. I don't believe I was ever involved in that but with stacking at unload it is theoretically possible.

I assume that she has witnesses as well has hospital records to back up her claim given the fact that she's not asking for much for damages.

They could easily give her double her asking price, and they could consider it a 'victory' compared to most cases. It's also interesting that DL's boats were 'upgraded' this spring with safety 'enhancements' that mainly consisted of netting below the lowest rail behind the guests, to make it difficult for guests to stick their hands outside of the boat and get them squished between the boat and the dock (and make it difficult for young kids to see out of the boats), as well as a new mooring system to hold the boats in place better while they load and unload. What's interesting about this, to me, is that as far as I know, these upgrades haven't been installed in WDW, and they certainly wouldn't have made a difference in this case.
