Now, no one in my family likes oatmeal, except for my husband, and it takes so long to make the "real" stuff that he never had time to make it before leaving for work in the am. I bought a small crock pot, just for his oatmeal and goggled a recipe and he just loved it! A nice, healthy and warm breakfast all ready prepared! (It takes about 2 min. to get it ready the night before.) Anyway, here's the good part, when he went for his check up at the Dr. this year, his cholesterol was down 65 points! The girls in the Drs. office were so impressed and wondering what his secret was! The secret is, you have to read all of the discussions going on at LP b/c you just never know what could change your life (or your family member's life) for the better!

Originally Posted By Tinkerbell819 >>Could you please post the oatmeal recipe here? Place everything in the crock pot and cook overnight. The crock pot I bought only had one setting...ON...not low or high. If there is a setting on it I would recommend low. Also, the one I bought doesn't have a removeable crock, I am going to look for another one because it is a pain to clean. The recipe is enough for two mornings, you can microwave it the next day. You can always add some honey or bananas just before eating. I was thinking of throwing some pumpkin pie spice in there tomorrow.

That is pretty similar to the recipe I use. I have also just done the oatmeal plain and then you can stir in what you want. My husband likes his oatmeal different then mine, he doesn't like raisins, so that works for us. It's been so hot I haven't made oatmeal in a long time, but I might have to make some soon.
