A few years back me and some friends went to see a lineup of Warrant, Ratt, Quiet Riot and Poison. Warrant was awful, Ratt and Poison were very good. But we all agreed that Quiet Riot was the most fun. While the other bands tried to modernize their look(and by modern the year was 1998) Quiet Riot came out looking exactly like they did in 1983, frizzy hair and spandex.

I wasn't a big fan of QR but they earned a place in history for sure. A lot of kids at the time got into metal because of Metal Health. It brought metal to the masses. Some of that was good and some not so good. Kevin was one of the all-time arrogant headcases and even admitted as much. He spent a lot of time in the 80's bad mouthing a lot of the people and bands in the industry and looking back he admitted it hurt his career.

But let's not forget Quiet Riot's greatest contribution to music which was Randy Rhoads, who founded the band in the mid-seventies.

I was really saddened by this news.
