Doc said that I should get a wheelchair and to stay off it as much as possible.

How hard is it to rent a wheelchair or ECV? Any suggestions on things I should or shouldn't do.

    Happy Thanksgiving to All!

When you rent at the parks they stay at that park. This makes getting to which ever transportation you have difficult. If you park hop I'm not sure if you have to pay again but you do have to hope they have one.

We used it at all the parks and DTD it was a life saver. It had the resort name on the back and was one of the wide ones. We brought a small throw and a bike lock. We used the throw but never the lock. I think people thought it was a personal w/c due to the throw.

We did not try for an ECV. If you knew my mother you'ld know why.;) Hope this helps and BTW the Dr. is right. Keep off it and keep it elevated as much as possible. Good luck and have fun.

Absolutely call and see if you can get a w/c from your resort, and enjoy your trip from a slightly different perspective!!!
And, when you get back, please let us know how it went for you.

I just returned from a trip where I rented ECVs for two memebers of our party. I HIGHLY recommend you call Care Medical. They will have an ECV waiting at the bell desk of your hotel when you arrive. When you go home, simply leave it with the bell man and they will pick it up.

It comes with a charger, so you just drive it into your room at night and plug it in. The charge will last you all day.

Cost for a week was $150 - same as if you had rented daily at each of the parks, but you don't have the convenience of having it with you all the time.

    Their phone number is 800/856-5949

On the Wednesday before my wedding I was admitted to the hospital for kidney stones where I stayed overnight. Late Thursday afternoon I was still there. When I finally saw the doctor I said, "Doc in two hours I'm supposed to pick up my tux so I can get married on Saturday, I don't care what you need to sign but get me out of here."

He asked me where we going for our honeymoon, which was a cruise. He gave me a prescription for percaset and said if I get another attack while on the honeymoon, go to the nearest bar, order a drink, take two of these, and have fun.

As for the demorol and Dole Whip I would need it in reverse ... during a kidney stone attack I need 75 units of demorol and if I had that first I wouldn't even be AWARE of my Dole Whip. The pain can wait!
