A new flagship set for the Disney LEGO license has been revealed today: the picturesque Cinderella’s Castle. The castle is an icon for Disney, being the centerpiece of Disney World. The set will have 4,080 pieces and will retail for US$349.99. We don’t know yet when it will be available. Lego's been doing some great—but expensive—sets lately. I'd like this even though I'm a Disneylander and I've never been to the Magic Kingdom.
I agree that it looks really neat, but it sure seems expensive for what it is Whatever happened to just getting a bucket of Legos and building your own thing? There are so many highly-specialized sets these days that are really neat (I have a couple of the Architecture series myself), but what I always liked about Legos was just letting my imagination run wild and make my own thing. That's why all the different pieces are designed to fit together, after all. I just feel like having so much emphasis on these paint-by-numbers sets takes away a lot of that fun
I like the Architecture series too, but so far I have only two sets, the Brandenburg Gate and Big Ben.
