As far as Lion King goes...Obviously there had to be some changes for the touring production...Instead of telling you what I want to I will wait for you to comment on your own thoughts after seeing the touring production...Here in Atlanta the show was just announced as coming back about a year from now...I can't believe they have taken this long to bring it back...Supposedly the production is so large the only place that can house it here is the Atlanta Civic Center...An ugly theater but large enough capacity that shows make a killing when they run here in town...It seats close to four thousand...I think that the show probably does lose some of its charm playing in such a large venue...But even at that if you are lucky enough to have an aisle seat that is one of the aisle's used throughout the show it makes no difference...Keep an eye out for one thing though...Prior to the starting of the show....Just minutes before...I noticed smoked coming from the ceiling of the theater...Nothing major, I doubt many noticed...I asked an usher about it and was told this was everyone's notice that the house light's were ready to go down...Sure enough, they did in a matter of seconds...Saw it a second time and the same thing again...It also was the only time I have ever seen people going up and down the aisle's telling everyone to take their seats immediately...Not only at the opening but also for the second act...They were serious and almost frantic in their effort...Can't wait to hear what you think about it, I am sure you will have a good time...How long is the run there in Charlotte????

They handled the pride rock issue quite well. There is this effect where scar is walking up pride rock but staying in the same place only rising up. They achieved this by having Pride Rock being multi-linked with each section being larger. They could drive it around the stage. And when they would drive in a slow circle, scar could walk up and still stay in the same spot but rising. The only scene that was drastically different was "I just can't wait to be King". It was scaled down a little too much. All in all a fantastic show.

Originally Posted By DAR Sorry for the late response. It was fantastic yet again. We brought my niece and nephew along and they only used the edges of their seats. Plus my dad got us third row score right there. The Milwaukee show was a little smaller than the Chicago one I saw a few years back. Instead of multiple cheetah's there was only one. But the acting and singing was terrific. THe production values just amazing. Well worth it.
