I'd say she was a cross between one of the "ladies" from Monty Pyton and a drunk Queen Elizabeth.

I have a bad habit of picking up the accent of my closest friends. In junior high, my best friend had a Southern accent, and I began to talk with one most of the time, lol.

I'm SOOOOO bad at things like this. If I tried any of the above, NO ONE would be able to guess what I was trying to do. The best I could muster would be a poor southern drawl, y'all.

Fernie had a very distinct nasal voice and almost stereotypical Mexican accent. One night, I don't know why, but after parting from them I went into an impression of Fernie and Maria, my wife was holding her tummy laughing begging me to stop saying I did a dead on Fernie impression. It wasn't so much his voice, it was more his personality and common phrases he used. A few days later, my wife mentioned to her friend that I did a good impression of her boyfriend, I was stunned and embarrassed, the friend was begging me to do it for her, it was awkward and uncomfortable, but eventually I did a little of him and she too was laughing hysterically. I was concerned that it could be taken in the wrong way if Fernie ever knew I did that. I made a point to explain that I liked Fernie and I had no malicious or harmful intentions. She understood and I trusted her. I never planned to do it again. Later on one evening, we were out and I must have been getting on my future comadre's nerves. I must have done something to irk her, because she purposely exposed me. She said in a sort of... "OK you wanna go there" way.. "hey Karl why don't you do your impression of Fernie for us" My heart dropped, I had the deer in headlights look, stuttering for an excuse and explanation, I could feel the blood rushing to my blush face as I fumbled for words that were no way going to get me out of the awkward predicament. I never did do the impression for them, nor have I ever did my Fernie impression ever since.

Oh, and if I'm mad I say "thang" instead of "thing". Other than that, I really can't do any other English-speaking accents. But, I've been told that my French & Russian accents when speaking those languages re pretty much spot-on for what you'd hear from a native speaker. Not the same with Spanish, though - at least not totally - I can't trill my r's to save my life. If I say pero or perro, it sounds the same. ARGH!
