I started walking and stopped smoking, but if one more doctor tells me to stop eating steak and potatoes I am gonna go postal. If I was meant to be skinny and healthy I would already be that way and no amount of rice cakes and exercise is gonna change that.

I have had normal blood pressure my whole life. Recently, I had a check-up and the nurse assist said I had high blood pressure. Because of my weight, they dismissed me and said,"lose weight" and see your regular doctor in January. They somehow skipped over two things:

    1) I've never had high blood pressure before and 2) the nurse assist took two seconds to take it and they did not do a second measure to be sure.

I have my cholesteral (I can't spell today) checked annually and so far, so good.

They say it seems OK, he'll ask how my diet is going, the last time I lied about how far off Atkins I'd slipped, this next visit I will have to fess up :(

I was told 4 years ago I have high blood pressure which didnt surprise me, I am overweight and not as physically active as I used to be. Lately it's been under control, my cholesterol is usually good.

Nope -- Sometimes I play with the blood pressure machine at the grocery store or WalMart, but who knows how accurate those things are

Hey BT! Does your doc do an A1C3? Don't bother lying - he/she'll know what's going on if they do that test ;-)

Beamerdog, I assume he does not? I have an appointment on Tuesday, I will ask about that.

    What is it?
