My son has shown a huge interest in herpatology lately, and knows the little things are all around the grounds. They're pretty quick little things, especially in the summer, and I'm sure he'd love to read up on them for our trip in 3 weeks.

    My son had a pet anole for a while that he named Orlando since that's where he saw them.

    We'll be careful. In the past, they've never gotten too close, and usually run if you get too close. Still, all lizards can carry salmonella, and that's reason enough to stay away.

    Believe me, my son has spent hours at the WDW hotels trying to catch those lizards and has never gotten close. He probably won't get within biting or salmonella distance. They're really fast!

    What's he's really interested in is chameleons. They are suppose to be common in central Florida, but I can, honestly say, I've never seen one on our trip to WDW.

    The anoles are called the American Chamelian. They do change color depending on their enviroment and their mood. If you see a brown one and they get startled, they'll usually turn green pretty quickly.

    The male anoles have a pouch on their neck that they inflate, or flash in order to attract a female. It looks like a little rudder and some of them have red edges. It's an interesting little lizard.

One morning we found a baby lizard in the terrarium (dead, but that's because the idiot gave birth in the water dish). We then put her, our pet, in the back yard so she could try again. Don't know that this has anything to do with lizards as WDW, but I had fun sharing.
