In the past, they've never gotten too close, and usually run if you get too close. Still, all lizards can carry salmonella, and that's reason enough to stay away.

Originally Posted By sherrytodd The anoles are called the American Chamelian. They do change color depending on their enviroment and their mood. If you see a brown one and they get startled, they'll usually turn green pretty quickly.

Originally Posted By hightp I think I saw the chameleon stunt on a cartoon somewhere. The male anoles have a pouch on their neck that they inflate, or flash in order to attract a female. It looks like a little rudder and some of them have red edges. It's an interesting little lizard.
