Most important detail we're flying in and won't really be in a position to go the grocery store off resort. Also possibly relevant: we'll be at All Star Music, we plan to be at rope drop nearly every morning, and we are taking advantage of the free dining special, so big dinners every night.

I know I can buy B'fast in the morning, at the food court but that will cut into "my" share of the souvenir money: I would like to minimize that money spent while maximizing convenience (of course!)

My first thought was to pack Cereal and buy milk. My second thought was to pack oatmeal and just use the hot water from the coffee maker, but doh! no coffee maker in the All Star Rooms. Does anyone know if there is free hot water in the cafeteria? Also, I may pack a six pack of bagels, could I buy cream cheese and/or peanut butter in the cafeteria?

We requested the handicapped room, and if we get it would get a fridge, but as we are not handicapped, there is no guarantee. (And, as we are just talking B'fast for me, the $10 a day for the fridge would defeat the purpose.) Also, it doesn't make much sense to have groceries delivered, you have to have a minimum order of $50 and there is a $20 fee.

Also, for someone flying in, what’s the cheapest way to have a fair amount of COLD water a day in the parks. (These days I tend to drink between 32 and 64 oz of cold water a day.) I know there are free drinking fountains. Will the counters pass out free cups of ice water? How big are these cups? 8oz? (As long as the water doesn't have sediment in it, I'm usually okay with tap water.)

    Thanks in Advance...

For water, I carry a CamelBak, an insulated backpack with a drinking tube. They come in 1.5, 2, and 3 liter size bladders, and various size bags, from minimalist to loads of cargo capacity. I fill it with ice and water and it will stay cold all day long. It saves me money too, because I don't feel the need to buy sodas or water.

It worked great and saved us some money for breakfast.

And unless things have changed - yes there is free

Enjoy yourself! We have to wait until after June 2008. That's when our son graduates, and he's asked for a trip to Disneyworld as a grad gift.

Tiggerdis, thanks for the tip about the hotwater. And you have a very smart son!

DVC_dad, thanks for the info. Now, I'll have to weigh which will save my pennies and which will save my sanity, messing with bringing my own stuff or paying slightly more to not have to worry about packing food.

And ElderP: When you read this: I love you. :)

Before ME we also did the car service and free grocery stop, and that saved a ton.

A third option is to have a big breakfast and skip lunch -- we did a few brunches in mid-morning and had plenty to sustain us until dinner.

    Have fun : )
