Number of cars registered in McCain's name: 13 Number of cars registered in Obama's name: 1 "Obama's lone vehicle also is a green machine, a 2008 Ford Escape hybrid. He bought it last year to replace the family's Chrysler 300C, a Hemi-powered sedan. Obama ditched the 300C, once 50 Cent's preferred ride, after taking heat for driving a guzzler while haranguing Detroit about building more fuel-efficient cars." "McCain's personal ride, a 2004 Cadillac CTS, is no gas sipper, but it should make Detroit happy because it's made by General Motors." "Only the Cadillac is registered in the candidate's name. Cindy McCain's name is on 11 vehicles, though not the one she actually drives. That car, a Lexus, is registered to her family's beer-distributor business and is outfitted with personalized plates that read MS BUD." Is it any wonder that McCain thinks the fundamentals of the economy are strong?

Should we be waiting for someone with money to give it all to the poor? If all it takes is a high priced vehicle too eliminate one from being eligible to be President, I can't even run. I have a late model Cadillac with all the buttons and switches, perhaps I should give up my aspirations to be President. Everyone seems to be grasping at straws and emphasizing things that make no difference or have no relevance to the job. In other words how does having a number of cars translate into how in touch with the common man anyone is. It is meaningless.

To me, finding out the guy owns 13 cars is pretty telling. If COURSE he thinks things are fine. They are. For him. And his friends.

I will say this though: When I think of the McCains and the families they come from and then the Obamas and the families they came from, hearing folks call Obama "elitist" but not McCain seems disingenious at best.

Originally Posted By Mr X ***Her children are too young to own a car-McCain's are not. That accounts for some more.*** Oh puleeze. The only way the total adds up to THIRTEEN is because he's filthy rich, which is fine except for he needs to and claims to understand and be able to fix the problems affecting the NON super-rich (even those poor slobs who can only manage a paltry four million dollars a year). Give it a rest. Does he have 11 kids? None of them register their own vehicle (or pay their own bills)? Well, maybe not, actually. Must be nice.

And I will bet my bottom dollar had O's children been of driving age they too would have a car-so what? Maybe O has footed the bill for other family members to have a car as well, we won't know because it doesn't look like he claims all that they own. There are certainly more important things on the agenda than how many cars they own and how many they own up to.

Some years ago he was chatting with former Broncos QB John Elway about salaries. Apparently Big John (who used to own several Denver area car dealerships) was under the impression that your average middle class Joe earned about 150K per year. When he was told the actual number he was said to be visibly shocked and surprised that people earned so little.

I borrowed the family minivan and hitched rides with my friends who were also borrowing the family car. I didn't own my first vehicle until I was 20. So, I really can't relate to the McCain family garage and vehicles for all the kids. That's not my experience, nor the experience of any of the people I grew up with.

Yep- he feels the pinch check to check all right - we're back to this DEM= poor and GOP = rich crap.

John McCain owns ONE car. Period. If Cindy dumped him that would be all he owns. That and his Republican cloth coat and his scars from being a POW.
