I liked Tangled a bit more than you did, but it was like a greatest hits album focus grouped for maximum profitability.

For the music I loved "Mother Knows Best" and the reprise of that song. When I left the theater I couldn't remember how any of the other songs went. The lantern segment and the climax were the best parts of the movie. Also, the romantic bickering... I could do without that in the next Disney movie. In Beauty and the Beast it was required. In Princess and the Frog it was a major plot point. In Tangled it was just kind of there to give Flynn something to do in some scenes.

That's a pretty traumatic scene for a Disney movie. By letting you know right from the top that it's coming, they keep little Cindy Lou Sixpack from getting too traumatized when it happens, or more to the point, keep her parents Joe and Agnes from having a cow when Cindy Lou sees the, uh, stuff.

Or, I guess I should say, would have been better without Flynn narrating? While there is humor throughout the movie, I think the opening should have been handled a little more seriously - having Flynn talk flippantly about "the old woman" just didn't work for me.
