Originally Posted By oodelally first of, another great show. second i had a thought about this big discussion over the picture of the mermaid and the guy. to me the line that you and i dont want disney to cross has already been crossed in the earlier movies of the pirates stories. my best example would be the beginning of at worlds end where in sao fengs bathhouse she is in the skimpy robe and the wooden eye pirate is looking up through the floorboards and looking at elizabeth's private parts. now some would say that they are not showing anything, but i believe there are some things like certain jokes, sounds, and other things that will make our minds envision what is not being shown. while they have never broached the subject of sex, they do allude to it many times. at the end of pirates 3 the sensual face of elizabeth, and the jokes like when sparrow says to elizabeth "those clothes dont suit you. it should be a dress or nothing. i happen to have no dress in my cabin." now i want to make a statement that this is one of my favorite jokes in the series but, this is nothing new to the pirates franchise, it has just never been directly shown to us as it has now.
