As the kids get older we'll slow down even more. We drive about 1800 miles roundtrip from Philly. On the way down the kids are excited, watching movies, doing schoolwork, playing video games. On the way home, they sleep about 15 out of the 17 hours it takes to get home. We call them our "baked babies" and we know everyone had a great time. In August we'll spend a week down the shore and it's a completely different experience. 7 out 7 days is spent on the beach relaxing. We'll go out to dinner every night and stroll the boards. Granted, I haven't read a book on the beach since we had kids but even back then on a cruise let's say, we didn't just sit by the pool everyday, we were out kayaking, snorkeling, in addition to relaxing by the pool. No shopping tours for us.

When I was younger, all I wanted were rides, too. But I'm talking about the planning/obsessed/itinerary types that actually schedule when and how they'll ride a ride. LOL
