WDW's diversity push, albeit how phoney it may be, continues to deliver.

I wish the new Ambassador boys all the very best in their endeavors and a great year representing WDW.

It's also possible they were good candidates for the job.

But Doobie.. you gotta understand that most of the population from the Caribbean also hails from the long line of Afrincans that were imported in past centuries. Even *I* have african genes in my very veins as some of my ancestry is from Africa!! That makes us semi-bros!! Furthermore, I concider the caribbean region to be a part of the American continent, so to me... we are all african americans per se...

Another example I can think of is Lisa here said she prefers "Indian/Native". But many of my friends who live in the Six Nations, prefers the term "Aboriginal".

I personally don't find the term black derogatory. It's nice and simple. So much easier to say black then "African-American", what if he's a visiting African from Africa, or perhaps a Black Canadian? Then "African-American" isn't correct is it?

The classic example for me was in the Winter Olympics a few years ago when a black female one a bobsledding medal and they said it was the first time an African American had won a Winter Olympic medal. In actually it was the first time a black person had one a medal (whether African or not). What's more, there are many African Americans that aren't black at all (South Africans, Northern Africans) but they aren't usually called African Americans. The term is almost always used to mean black, not what it actually says, so that's why I prefer the more accurate term.

    (Off soapbox)

For those keeping score at home, Disneyland picked a black girl as one of its Ambassadors this year. And a white girl. But it's the white girl that speaks fluent Spanish.

The black girl is strikingly attractive, (especially in the little slinky cocktail dress she wore to an Ambassador party, so I've heard). The white girl is tall and slender and has long blonde hair and it will likely be chopped off and she'll be given that Irvine Soccer Mom Flip hairdo they always give to the blonde Ambassadors. The black girl has long, naturally curly hair and we're all wondering what they'll do to her hair during her makeover. But again, both Disneyland Ambassadors for '07 are already very attractive young ladies, so it shouldn't be too hard to make them look even prettier and more Ambassador-ish.

For anyone that's wondering he was born in Texas and moved to Florida the fall of 02 for his second CP semester and has never left since. Since his decent seems to be a big discussion here for some reason he's Filipino.

It was not really Disneyland Ambassador-like. That said, she's got an amazing physique and she seems like she'll be a great representative. So does Garnett. I bet they'll have a great year. I didn't overhear any major changes in the works for Adonis' hair. The Amabssa-stylist was at the party, too, and Adonis' hair is already beautiful and stays where it's put. Maybe Garnett can avoid the super short look. It's generally about how to keep the hair out of the face. If it stays out of her face without being cut short then it might stay semi-long! It's always interesting to see what makeover changes take place...
