Maybe even worse, since the no-name leaves the "it could be you" mentality while the stars are the focus of the ads. It's nice that they gave the money to Make A Wish, but I just don't really get the point of them at all.

Now we have a top notch photographer engaging and moving into the quality publications. To me this art. And it is the art that is drawing the attention. I am bored of seeing little kids hugging rubber heads. It's old, tired and gives a myopic impression of what Disney is all about. To me, the magic of Disney is putting me in an immersive environment so that I can be a jungle explorer, a pirate, enjoy New Orleans, become a colonial, travel to Everest, fly in space etc. These picturs show adults living the imagination. That to me is cool. Some of my greatest memories of Disney vacations are enjoying meals at the Napa Rose, or California Grill, having a message at a great themed Disney Spa, or going for a twirl in a teacup. Upscale and Disney goes hand in hand. People complain about the walmarting of Disney, but this add campaign is the antithesis of this. One a whole heartily applaud. I think all the fan boys out there are disappointed because we comb the web for news and rumours daily. But the truth is, we know most of it by the time it is official. For non raving fan boys, these announcements were big. In the days of instant mass communication, I believe the days of big announcements are truly over.
