Between that and the numerous denigrations on Dinosaur (the running Carnotaurus was just laying on its side the last time I rode) I've begun visiting the parks as soon as I can after an opening, in hopes I can actually see the ride and not the beat-up version. I *guess* that means Disney's getting more of my money, but it is worrying.

If you compare the execution of the intended concept at BGMRMC versus the execution of the Carsland attractions in DCA, there seems to be no comparison. Would it not have been better to place something akin to EE in HKDL park? Or did Disney simply admit that they don't want to attempt any more projects like the big Yeti from EE as opposed to using smaller bear AA's that they are much more comfortable with? Seems like a big step backward unless there was some real push to provide a unique new attraction for HKDL in a region which is famous for copying/cloning of most any kind of product.

It's supposed to be a haunted abandoned mine so perhaps Tony Baxter figured it should look run down.

To say that should be run down would be similar to saying that Main Street USA should be run down, since it's based on a time period that's over 100 years old.

Exposed to the harsh elements, and not design for looks anyway, structures around a mining operation would be functional but not painted or anything. Spare parts and materials might be left here and there (gears, buckets, tools). The little town suggests we are IN the old west, at that time. At least, that's how I'd always viewed it.
