As fun as it might be to get to see WDW from up high, I really don't think that DTD is close enough to the parks to make it interesting for me (though I suppose it will be nice to not see the balloon from inside the parks).

    I wonder what they will do with in in the fall once the hurricanes start blowing. It seems like it could be a little tough to tie down, and a lot of work to completely deflate and reinflate.

    It's not free in those cases, it's included with admission. DTD has no admission. The Marketplace also has a carousel and kiddie train ride which also aren't free.

I could see that being really neat, but I could also see them closing it around dusk, especially if it's going up 400 ft, since that's where some planes and helicopters would be flying.

    That's a great idea. I hadn't thought of that. You could probably see more than 1 fireworks show at once. That might make it worth the money.
