Hope we can see beast's castle above the barricades when we are there this summer.

ORWEN: That's for sure! I mean, Disneyland's Fantasyland will still have more attractions that the one in Florida. Plus Disneyland still has a Toon Town and if you want to see Ariel all you have to do is walk across to DCA.

ORDDU: Florida's Fantasyland will certainly be nicer than it used to be but will continue to lack the number of attractions. Aside from that, Florida doesn't have the most important presence of all--a doctor with the world's most endearing bedside manners...

And it's nice to see that they're continuing to add details in the storybook circus area. I feel like Giddeon needs to get his picture with the "Giddy" bucket for elephant food/water!

And what's it mean if there's black smoke coming from the Liberty Belle? Do we have a new pope of Liberty Square?

Although the purist in me would not like the iconic castle tampered with. ( they did screw up with that stupid hat in front of Manns) Maybe move it behind small world, enter a pathway through the fantasyland skyway loading area.( yes between HM small world) OR could we ever get a Indiana Jnes in Advernture land, or Table mesa in fronteirland? Guess we have to settle for 1 dark ride, baby coaster and huge restaurant.

It's only adding two new rides; Mermaid and the Dwarves coaster. And they are closing a classic ride to make it happen; Snow White's Scary Adventures. So it's net addition to the park is one and a half new rides; Mermaid and an extra Dumbo spinner. Plus a few new restaurants and shops and meet n' greets.

One and a half new rides gets added to the park with this. And if you consider that the submarine ride operated for 25 years on the site of the Mermaid ride, it's only an extra Dumbo spinner that gets added. Am I the only one who sees a problem here?

And one more thing, the rockwork on the Mermaid ride doesn't look as fancy as the rockwork in Cars Land... <Ducks and runs!>

The meet & greet isn't a ride, but it is an attraction, so the net gain is actually two, not one, plus added capacity for Dumbo. Although I'll probably will never set foot inside, my bet is that the Princes meet & greet will be more popular than Snow White. There also is a rumor that one of those circus tents will be an attraction of sort, most likely another character meet & greet.

"And one more thing, the rockwork on the Mermaid ride doesn't look as fancy as the rockwork in Cars Land... "

    Is it supposed to?

I have to say that with the exception of the Matterhorn, the Teacups and Small World, there isn't much in DL's Fantasyland that appeals to me. I pretty much skip it or pass through whenever I visit Disneyland.

I remember reading a Disneygeek.com update from one of his trips to WDW. He said he was talking to one of the CMs in Fantasyland, and the CM was going on and on about how impressive the rockwork around TLM ride was going to be. Disneygeek said he had to try very hard to keep a straight face in front of the CM since he's had Carsland rocks to compare it to.

I like the Little Mermaid building/entrance better than DCAs. Seems like it'll make you feel like you're really there. Wherever there is.

Nope. I was really impressed with the way that everything was looking and even said wow, this will look nicer than DL's FL. Even though it may "look" nicer there just isnt much to do. Considering whats going on with DCA WDW really got the raw end of the stick! Hopefully Avatarland will be amazing.

"I have to say that with the exception of the Matterhorn, the Teacups and Small World, there isn't much in DL's Fantasyland that appeals to me. I pretty much skip it or pass through whenever I visit Disneyland"

Hans, i feel the same way except on some trips i really do enjoy appreciate spending some time in FL. If you had kids i guess it would make more sense. I was really amazed at how many kids were at the MK and i dont understand what parents do all day? compared to DL there just isnt too much going on thats aimed specifically for children.

It may be more popular, but why on earth remove a ride when there are few to begin with? Like i mentioned before if DL can squeeze a MG somewhere WDW should have no problems at all.

    This.

"It may be more popular, but why on earth remove a ride when there are few to begin with?"

    Because it wasn't popular?

There may be fewer rides, but is it that big of a deal that WDW is missing Casey Jr and Alice? I know that they are considered classics, but honestly, as cute as they may be they are pretty much at the bottom of my list of things to do at DL. I guess my admiration for WDW's Fantasyland is mostly because it looks far more larger and cohesively themed that DL's.
