I wonder what the quality is like? It's been quite a while since I had a meal at a WDW cast location. Years and years.

Go and report back ... maybe pics? ;-)

I don't know what to think about the quality- I wont touch anything except the fries at my local Aramark (figure its safe when it goes freezer to the fryer) but I do trust the ones at the parks.. If I end up there I will be happy to report- Figure worse comes to worse the drink alone is worth the buck

Wow. My wife, teen age son and I had dinner at Mimi's the other day (not the one on Harbor Blvd). With the tip it was under $50. With 3 beers it would have been in the low 60s'. For three people.

You should've, Sneaking is below me though- Thats why I have a Main Gate...

I spent the day at DAK and it was crowded! The wait in the FP return line at Safari took over 20 min... Everest was 50 min when I got a FP and 80 when I returned..

I did get the 99 cent lunch though I upgraded and added potatoes for another dollar- It was pretty good :) and well worth the money.. Add the dollar I spent on a sucker (Regularly 4, Clearance for 2 and my 50% discount) it was a cheap day

Mini trip report (and food pic) <a href="http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t71/DL_EM/DAK/" target="_blank">http://s157.photobucket.com/al..._EM/DAK/</a>

No doubt. But its still almost triple what it costs here. Labor is but a fraction of the total cost. Doubling wages would probably only increase costs 20-30%. I suspect that those UK whoppers are so expensive in part because of high property costs, which are so high in the UK that it makes SoCal look like a bargain. You could probably buy every Burger King in Topeka, Kansas for the cost of a single London location (OK, I exagerate, but you know what mean).

<<I am appalled that in the states wait staff have to exist on tips.>>

It is very backward. That said, in higher end restaurants they actually do quite well (tips).

For instance, let's say you are a waiter in the Blue Bayou. You probably attend 5 or 6 tables at the same time. Say the average bill is $100 (its probably more). That's $600 served/sold per hour. If the tips average 15% that's $90 per hour. I wish I made that kind of money. And yes, I know that physically its hard work and the staff probably don't work 8 hour shifts, but its hardly poverty wages.

Now a waitress at Denny's doesn't do that well. But one thing I do remember from my college days was that the guys and gals who waited on tables part time always had plenty of money, while the rest of us student shmucks who didn't have a rich daddy were always broke.

That turkey dinner looked good, Em!

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you and all the LP gang! Just got back from a walk on the beach (it was beautiful) and had my seconds at 11:30!

Nice pics and report ... not surprised The Mouse is whoring MVMCP everywhere.

I am very curious as to what the actual crowd counts are at the parks this week (well, all the time really) to gauge how bad things are.

Wait times, as you know, don't always tell the whole story because they aren't always accurate and they also are affected by staffing and the amount of ride vehicles being dispatched per hour.
