There is nothing in that ride that I can't do at my own house with a wii and a spinning chair. Some companies are already plannign to unviel 3D technology for home televisions (youtube has some demonstrations) these will be out in the market within 5 years and this ride will be long out of date by then.

Now I grant him that Carsland and Little Mermaid are a step in the right direction. Big Budget, pull out all the stops, rich themeing, AAs, special effects, thrills, chills and everything the people expect from Imagineering. But DCA needs more ORIGINAL attractions not tied to any existing property that tie back into the CALIFORNIA theme if he truely wants a rebirth of DCA.

I really hope Lasseter isnt the kind of guy that is easily impressed by stuff. I would be really disappointed if he thinks Stitch's Great Escape and Monsters inc. laugh floor at Walt Disney World are quality attractions.

Didn't he and/or other Pixar folks have a hand in designing this stuff? Why do so many people portray him as some kind of savior? After all, Disney cuts his paycheck so he's just one of "them", isn't he?

I know of no real reaction from them on Laugh Floor or Stitch's Great Escape (which has nothing to do with Pixar, incidently). But John Lassiter has been very enthusiastic and positive about both Nemo and Toy Story Midway Mania. He cut his teeth at Disneyland, starting as a sweeper and working up to Jungle Cruise skipper. Unlike many other recent executives that Disney brought in from other companies, John Lassiter "gets it." His sole interest is in creating quality entertainment, in the belief that this is what will attract the public (and their wallets, if you will). His track record at Pixar speaks for itself. And as far as I am concerned, he is two for two with his involvement in theme park attraction design.
