    >>A more compact version of DCA's Little Mermaid ride is being proposed and mocked up for a plot of land in Florida's Magic Kingdom, where their old submarine ride used to be. But the timing and budget for that clone is not yet confirmed, and the ability to secure company funding for that expansion isn't being helped by the financial panic. We'll keep you updated in the months ahead, but the DCA version of Little Mermaid will be the first to start construction later in '09, while the Florida version might be on hold for a bit until Florida attendance projections and finances shake out a bit more for the 2011-13 time frame.<<

    As mentioned here yesterday,

This is the one thing that is more than likely for WDW. Wouldn't count much on the rest.

As repeated ad nausem and reinforced in Al's great update - I would suggest visiting DLR in lieu of WDW for the next 3-4 years.

I would count on absolutely nothing of substance for WDW's 40th. Nothing.

Hey, my Disney stock is down to $26 ...WHOO HOO!!!!

The only good thing is I believe in a few months you'll start seeing a rash of indictments followed by a few high-profile suicides and a couple of CEOs/Wall Street players/White House advisors who leave the country and are not ever found again.

Stock now down to 23.80. You're certainly not going to get that butter at LTT now Spirit. Wonder if the MK will start closing at 7 on weekends - while crowds remain thick.

Now, smart people, might say it's when times are tough that you reinvest in your product and improve it ... give people reason to visit.

And I damn well will be demanding that apple butter at LTT in a few weeks! :)

Sound strategy if you can afford to. I believe Disney can, but they won't.
