A place to tell people that they are stupid or evil if they aren't exactly like "you"? I'm not aiming that at you, vbdad, but it seems that this is at the heart of all WE threads. I'm smart, you're stupid. I'm right, you're wrong. I win, you lose. I think we all lose.

She has no business criticizing any world leader. Madoanna frequently opens her yap before she thinks so no I do not respect her for that and a lot of reasons. Not a fan of her glamorizing an anything goes, in your face sexual lifestyle. Luckily she is not the fave of kids any more, because her message to them was do as you want...it's all OK- look at me I'm rich and famous. Then co-writes a children's book, how hypocritical. She releases a SEX book at the height of the rise of HIV and Aids..someone explain to me what a great thought process that is? Let's then make a song about touting teen pregnancy, and make all out to be OK while the poverty rate for teen mothers is outrageous, but not for the multi millionarie Madonna who somehow feels the need to tell people how to live their lives. Aw well as her let's try and make statements about sexually explicit lifestyles in prime time Tv when younger children are watching awards shows ( not my kids watching ) If this is the role model you choose to defend as some deep thinker....that's your call, but I think she is a low life. Making it in the entertainment world selling trash doesn't qualify one as intelligent.....there are plenty of examples, start with Larry Flynt and work your way around. So yes, when someone like this makes a 'political statement' I am going to ask the question, what does she possibly add to any political thought process ?

She will criticize the President, but cross a picket line of Union employees to do so. Only as long as her own profits are intact, her loopy social conscience is indulged.

I pride myself on opinions not controlled by any one political party, as I have yet to find one that contains all solid people out for my best interests....I support those who I feel will do the best job to keep the US the best place to live, whatever party they happen to be affiliated with is secondary.

He is worth more than the gross national income of all those African countries he says he represents. Why doesn't he use his own money first. He isn't asking you or I to donate money. He goes to Washington DC and asks politicians to take "our" tax money and redistrubte it to corrupt governments in Africa. None of the money raised by Band-Aid EVER got to Africa for relief efforts. To this day no one knows where all the money raised by Band-Aid ever ended up.

What I did do was disagree with you when you said that she isn't able to think on her own. She's made a career out of doing exactly what SHE wanted, not what people thought she should do. (Good or bad, that's the truth.) Intelligence isn't always about morality. I simply stated that she was smart and you took it to mean that I thought she was a great human being. (Which again, for the record, I do not.) Madonna has every right to criticize any leader of any country just as I have every right to. But I guess since Madonna isn't an expert in political affairs and thus doesn't deserve to comment on them, then you will stop commenting on things you aren't an expert in? (And maybe part of Madonna's intelligence is getting people like you to care about what she does so very much. Your hatred for her is what she lives for.)
