I think that has the potential to be even more popular than Laugh Floor...thoughts?

    Psuedo futuristic?

    I don't think so.

No more "psuedo futuristic" than Nemo in the subs.

About as out of place as Laugh Floor, if you ask me. :p

    ***psuedo-futuristic/fantasy/sci-fi-ish***

Well, when they change the name of the land to pseudo-futuristicfantasyscifiland, Laugh Floor will work just fine. :D

I haven't seen MILF, so I'm speaking more to the movie. Monsters Inc. *is* a psuedo futuristic/fantasy/sci-fi film. Can we convert laughter into fuel? Have you ever seen someone tele-transport through a door? So for me, that makes the attraction fit, if ever so loosely.

They drive cars and eat sushi...very much a "Modern Day" kind of life. Even a little dated in parts (the little veggie shop with the Italian owner is mostly a thing of the past in todays' Wal-Mart culture, after all).

I never got that impression though. The factory-at-large is very much a modern day power plant deal, complete with hard hats and fore-mans and all that. Sure they do somehow "rig" the doors but I get the impression that the door "technology" itself is just a kind of magic they stumbled upon (remember, you need the entire "door" for it to work...what's so high tech about a slab of wood?).

As far as converting scream into energy, well, that was their main (only?) power source. How much high tech gadgetry do we employ in the relentless search for more black gold?

Yeah...I'm not seeing the pseudo-futurism there (nor sci-fi even). Alternate dimensional fantasy is what the movie is all about, in the present day.

Neither has anything to do with Tomorrowland.

    That was my point. ;)

Shoehorning Buzz into the various Tomorrowlands semi worked. But Monsters Inc.? ABSOLUTELY not!

I get the feeling some Disneyland Fans here have thrown in the towel .. and it matters not what imagineering puts in anymore.

I haven't thrown in the towel. I'm still holding out for someone at WDI with some SENSE!

I think you missed the point hista. The point is to take the basic premise .. but assign a futuristic themed story to it.

Just to be clear, I am not trying to justify putting "cartoons" in TL, merely explaining how I think it fits, even if badly. I'd be much happier if MILF wasn't in TL, here, there, or anywhere else.

    You both missed the point.

The point was, NEITHER ONE OF THEM BELONG IN TOMORROWLAND!

And I chose a very cynical example (an old fable from Arabia) to highlight exactly why Monsters Inc isn't "somewhat more appropriate" at all.

It either fits the theme, or it don't. These don't. Back to the drawing board, DisCo!

    ;)

    Takes some imagination, surely.

But would they rather be lazy .. and just shoehorn Monsters Inc. because it's easier?

Didn't Walt have a line about "Not resting on our laurels" ?
