My father, who is a Cardio-Pulmonary Specialist and has received Moonshine and Squirrel as payment for medical services.
I live about 6 miles from a snake handling church. There ARE the folks I live near:

At least your Dad has patients that attempt to pay him, rather than stiff him. Didn't they make snake handeling illegal in WV. I thought those folks had to go underground. I never condem folks for their religious beliefs, but I don't think I could ever feel comfortable at one of their churches.

Thank you very much Disney, for diluting yet another experience at Disney with the discounts and marketing programs.

Free food, free nights, free transportation. Why not free us real Disney fans from this insanity and start catering (no pun intended) to those of us who have Disney in our blood, instead of marketing to anyone and everyone who, in many cases, have no respect for what Disney used to be and will probably never know.

That's exactly how I use to feel. That was a very big part of the trip. Out of all the years I ate prior to the DDP, I only had one bad meal. Now I merely hope for mediocre. I blame it all on the Deamon Disney Dining Plan. I will not be repetitive, and list all the reasons now. They have completely ruined dining at WDW for me.

I would have to be in pretty dire straits to go down that road.

The only time Ive eaten at the parks recently was a few weeks ago when I ate at Crystal Palace with friends- I actually was satisfied with the experience for the price. I though the variety was fair and thought most food tasted good.

As far as pricing goes, everything is expensive now. I can't leave the grocery without spending at least $20 on a few items.

At Saints games a bottle of beer costs $7.00 (which is why I no longer drink at Saints games) and a cold Domino's pizza costs $7 or $8 (which is why I eat a late breakfast and have a late lunch after the game). Eating at WDW is not cheap, but it's not so expensive that I going to leave property for a meal.

    lol.

FWIW, my hometown of Boston has mirrored the Chicago situation as vb is explaining it...I remember when I was a kid bleacher seats were iirc $8 at Fenway park, best seats in the house (roof box) ran somewhere in the $40's...NOW, I'm not even sure about the face value but I looked online and tickets were being hawked for $500-$1000 EACH...

Actually a quick look online (now my curiosity is up there) reveals that the face values aren't even close to Chicago though. $26 for bleachers (I suppose 200% over decades ain't that bad :p), and a range of prices above that up to $50,$90, and $125 for the good seats.

Oh well. Chicago sucks I guess. :p

(who wants to see the CUBS anyway?)

Now I admit it's probably going to be for a lesser team, certainly not for a rivaly like you're talking about VBDAD, but it's got an affordable price tag. There is very affordable entertainment to be had in this part of the country. I plan on discovering more of it in the future.<

see the White Sox here sometimes run things special( although nothing even close to that price)- because they don't sell out --

Single game Cubs tickets go on sale next Friday at 10 AM-- every seat for the year will be gone by 7 PM.....
then you belong to the scalpers -

that $60 bleacher seat for the Cardinals- $250 easily.

even the nationals likely results in a $10 seat because tix just aren't available.

Blackhawks were an easy ticket the last 8 years because they sucked - at one time they were the toughest ticket in town ( laste 60's early 70's) - now this year - they have sold out every home game

there's a whole loser society of us ---

and as long as they sell every ticket to every game- they can continue to charge those rates undortunately

btw - those rooftop seats you see across Wrigley- all now big business and people reinforced those buildings and built beachers that hold up to 250 people.

Cost for Beyond the Ivy or some of the others- ( now remember includes beer.wine food -- start at $250 and go up depending on game - time of the season
