I am not knocking it, Em ... actually looking forward to anything new ... and I have heard a few good things about it.

Heck, I won't even bash the AIE until I have seen it at least twice.

Maybe I'll love them both (or at least enjoy them) ... anything's possible.

I am so tired of staleness, so just being 'new' will earn a few points in my spirited book.

I like your positive approach. Actually you're giving it 2 more chances than I intend to.
Maybe someday they'll create a "Lost" to put in.

He should. But he can only do so much.

I recently acquired a way of contacting John directly ... and I have met/spoken with him 3-4 times before (once fairly in depth so I do believe he'd recall me) and I'm debating doing so when I get some free time.

He's the type of exec that welcomes feedback, no matter how negative, which is the polar opposite of anyone at TDO.

The thing with John is he's always going to think about DL first ... and while that place has been heading in the right direction largely since 2004, Disney is investing a lot of time, money and resources there so that's where his priority lies.

    Moi? Postive?

You must have the wrong Spirit ;-)

Seriously, I don't think this is the direction Disney theme park entertainment should be headed but I am more than willing to be proven wrong.

I know Freemantle put a lot into this and I just finished speaking with a friend who saw/met David Cook in Tallhassee last night and he told her that 'Disney did a great job' on AIE so I am not just going to say 'it sucks' ...

    <<Maybe someday they'll create a "Lost" to put in.>>

I'd love to see that, but I doubt it. When you have an Emmy-nominated member of the cast telling me how much he'd enjoy doing something for the parks if it could capture the vibe of the show yet no one has ever (to his knowledge) contacted cast/crew/creators, it tells you Disney isn't interested.

And I am sure there are some folks at WDI who could do amazing things with the mythology of Lost.

But this is still good right? I mean if there is one person concentrated on quality it is him right? Surely his opinions pull some weight.

I agree, but I can't change my choices now. I have to admit that 2 of the meals were burger, and fries. Those really use to be a treat for me. I just don't normally eat that kind of food. Those will probably be the only cheeseburgers that my wife will eat this year. So it is sometning different for us.

It would be nice had he grown up with WDW like he did at DL.

I would have no problem with AIE if they had other projects they were working on. Say SW 2.0., and a redux of the Backlot Tour or creating a whole new a cars attraction out of it.

Would there be Polar Bears in it?

I can only tell you there are many plans for the park and SW 2.0 is pretty much ready for installation ... same with the Monsters coaster for Studio 1 ... but they aren't doing anything.

And even if, shockingly, I enjoy AIE it still isn't the type of thing that will push me to visit more often ... and I very much doubt it will be the type of attendance driver the aforementioned attractions will be.

I agree, I look it as just something else to hopefully improve TPFKADS/MGM. Is that right this time?

That's kind of like you saying Santa planned on bringing me that Lionel Electric Train last year, but he only left me a stinkin' lump of coal.

During my first life (and for quite a few years thereafter) most people basically lived from harvest to harvest; if a harvest failed, you had a real problem.

Now (in the developed world anyway we have an abundance of food. Think of all the restaurants there are in every commercial district in every city of any size! And most of it reasonably priced.

How much longer do you think this will continue?

THe abundance will remain. As for "reasonably priced", I'll answer that with another question:

Why do you think there are so many "We will buy your gold jewelry" commercials on TV?

That's what I'm afraid to speculate about.

In a feeble attempt to stay on topic, I can see both sides of this. My last trip to WDW was with a family during the Thanksgiving season. We'd gotten to our hotel (Dolphin) in the late afternoon. For dinner, they ate luncheon meat in the hotel room.

Now that's not a good time at WDW in my opinion, so I went looking for a more exciting place to eat. It was Saturday night, but I was able to squeeze into the Flying Fish. The food was very good, but the portion was small (I wasn't full)and it was $60!

    Let's just say I wasn't completely satisfied.

I suspect that's why your friends were up in their room eating luncheon meat. The prices can put sticker shock on a lot of peoples mind when at the World. I know to some here the prices seem totally inline with todays entertainment prices. I however think they are exceptionally high for what you actually get.
